We created FOLKL VISION to bridge the gaps between traditional traffic and people counting methods and the requirement for more flexible, nuanced and context-specific approaches.
FOLKL VISION provides a clear and detailed understanding of how people use space, to inform decision-making and potential infrastructure changes. It can be set up to analyse roads and intersections, carparks, trails and in public spaces to analyse the movement patterns of people, whether they are pedestrians, cyclists or drivers.
FOLKL Vision can be used as a stand-alone research approach, as part an intersection analysis, or to provide a clear baseline for evaluating infrastructure changes. Analysis features include: average speed data, dwell time, road rule compliance, movement patterns, and direction by classification and time distribution.
FOLKL is a recommended supplier for Waka Kotahi’s Innovating Streets programme and is a provider on the AoG (All-of-Government) panel.
